This week we had a group meeting with the fashion students to discuss our end of term show. I took in the mood board, that we were all asked to bring. I have added items on my board that are begining to shape the direction I may take. Some students did give feedback which was helpful and has added to my ideas. The aim of the meeting was to give us all a chance to collaborate, fashion and journalism students working together creating a piece for the final show. I think that everybody was feeling shy as students did not mingle that well. I think that due to limited time it will be better for me to work on this project alone. I don't want to let anyone down if I can't make the meetings to discuss and/or put the project together.

I have started working on my Wix website. It will be a miracle if I have my site finished in time. I am giving it a lot of time and effort but I am struggling. As many time as I write something, the page disappears. I will keep going as I can only get better and building websites, writing blogs, creating content and mastering social media are all skills that I will need to develop if I want to work in journalism. I don't yet have a vision for my website but I will need to think about colour, fonts size and style, photos and every little part of the website.

I will need to work with three other students from my class, as we will be putting together a group presentation, with each student speaking for five minutes. Being able to speak up in a clear, focused fashion seems easy but will be a challenge as being at the front of the class feels very different to being in the students seating area. This opportunity will help my confidence as I will need to have the ability to speak in a professional setting. I want the best outcome so think I will ask the older students, as they seem the most likely to work well in a group and to physically do their part. Team working will be a vital skill in journalism so getting used to learning how to create an effective team will be a valuable transferable skill.

In Ways Of Looking I will be creating an academic poster, which is another new skill I will have to develop. Having the ability and skill to create fact based information in a way people can understand it and access it will build my writing skills and knowledge of research methods. Research will be a critical skill in order to uncover the truth in storytelling.

I would like to successfully learn all the new skills taught in term two which means that I need to be ready to face the challenge of technology. It's time for me to say goodbye to the belief that I can't succeed.

There is a lot to think about, a lot to do and a lot to read.
