Who Am I?

I have been busy working on creating my vision for the end of term show. I started with a larger idea that included clothes, food, drink, flags, a precious item from each parent, video and audio, plus the I Am From poem. I initially thought that if I work with a fashion student they could help me with the clothing in exchange for my helping to write an article on their fashion item for the show.

I soon understood that working alone would be best for me as I am limited on free time, so I then thought that I could ask my mum for help with the Pearly Queens clothes, but I ultimately decided to leave out the cultural fashion items from the final look. Upon reflection I thought that they would each take up space and I don't actually know how much area there would be available to me. However, I didn't let go of my fashion idea completely as I recalled that I had a Dominican tee shirt and could simply purchase an English version.

I now have the suitcase and have spoken with Simon about having my I Am From poem printed, which he is kindly taking care of. I feel like everything is in order and that I will be ready on the day.

An opportunity has come up to attend the World Press Freedom Day (WPFD) event at the American Embassy, however the date is the same as our final project day. I took some time to think, then decided that I should attend the WPFD event. Hopefully I will still get a few hours at the end of term show too.

My team are ready to present our slides for the Presentation Assesment. I am nervous but feel that we have a good team and will pass. All the slides are ready and we are just working towards improving the delivery of our notes.

I have been involved in some enjoyable university life events this term from International Women's Day, a science day, a Canva talk and a free Ramadan breaking fast treat, a samosa, water and date. I am enjoying ths term more than term one. I am really liking taking a piece of term one work (the poem) and incorporating it into the term two project.
