The End

The last twelve weeks has gone very fast and now here we are. The presentations were all held last week. I am not happy with my performance. The plan was to talk from the top of my mind and turn my own slides, but I forgot to hit the slide button and missed telling some information. If I could live those five minutes again I would slow down, pay no attention to my notes while talking as I kept checking to make sure that I did not miss anything, but that actually made me misplace my point and I accidentally skipped an important point. the experience was good and I gained a lot from the whole process, from creating slides, to researching facts, and working as a team. I think that when you have a good team who all contribute and work to thier best it makes me also work harder. I am excited to learn what grade we achieved. I also feel more confident stepping forward into working as a team, create slides. A mistake is only a mistake if you learn nothing from it, so I forgive myself my presentation errors.

I can see the skills that we are developing this term and how necessary they are to the journalism carrer. Each term I am moving closer to feeling more capable, not because I have mastered any of the skills but due to now knowing how to continue working on the skill outside of the classroom.

I was able to bring all the items that I needed for the end of year show and I am happy with how it looked. Unfortunately I was not able to stay at the event due to having secured a seat at the America Freedom Day. I was told that the event was a success. I am sad to not have been more involved.

Attending World Press Freedom Day was an informative experience. The topic of misinformation and artificial intelligence in journalism was well covered by the panel. I was able to participant in a Cultural and Diversity workshop run by ITV's Art editor Nina Nannar.

The lesson was learning how to hold your own space and not hide your background, gender or difference. Nina Nannar did not hold back but was very honest with the difficulties she had faced and the doors she hopes she has been a part of opening for those coming though it after her. I will try and take up other opportunities if they arise again.
